Terms of Service

📋 Overview

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Eskwela ("the App"), a student scheduler for Filipino students on Android and iOS, developed by Ivan (independent developer, Minglanilla, Cebu, Philippines). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

🎓 Who Can Use Eskwela

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian, and they must approve any purchase you make.

👤 Your Account

You can use some features without an account. Other features (Friends, group chats, sync, premium, the quiz marketplace) require you to sign in with Google or with email.

• You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for activity that happens under it.
• Give accurate information and do not impersonate anyone else.
• One person, one account. Do not create extra accounts to claim rewards, points, or trials more than once.

You can delete your account at any time from the App or through the Delete Account page.

🤝 Acceptable Use

Eskwela has social features like friend chat, group chats, announcements, and a shared quiz marketplace. When using them, you agree not to:

• Harass, bully, threaten, or post hateful content about anyone
• Share sexual content, violence, or anything illegal
• Spam, scam, or send unwanted promotions
• Upload content you do not have the right to share, including copyrighted exam papers or other people's work without permission
• Share other people's personal information without their consent
• Cheat the points, rewards, or ad system, or try to hack, scrape, overload, or reverse engineer the App or its servers

We may remove content, hide quizzes that get reported, and suspend or ban accounts that break these rules.

📝 Your Content

You own what you create in the App: your schedules, tasks, notes, quizzes, and messages. When you publish a quiz to the marketplace or post in a shared space, you give us permission to store and show that content to other users so the feature works. You can remove your published content at any time.

🤖 AI Features

Eskwela uses AI for things like schedule scanning, the Esky tutor, quiz generation, summaries, and answer explanations. AI can make mistakes. Always double-check AI-generated schedules, answers, and study material against your official school sources. Do not rely on AI output for important decisions, and do not use it to cheat on graded work.

⭐ Premium Subscriptions

Eskwela offers optional premium plans. Prices are shown in the App before you buy.

• Payments are handled by Google Play (Android) or the Apple App Store (iOS). We never see your card details.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
• If a free trial is offered, you will be charged when it ends unless you cancel before then.
• You can cancel any time in your Google Play or App Store subscription settings. Uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds follow Google Play's or Apple's refund policies.

We may change premium features or prices. Price changes apply to your next renewal, and the store will notify you as required.

🪙 Points, Streaks & Rewards

Points, streaks, marketplace items, and similar in-app rewards have no cash value. They cannot be sold, transferred, or exchanged for money. Some rewards come from watching optional ads. We may adjust point costs and rewards, and we may remove points gained through bugs, abuse, or multiple accounts.

🔗 Third-Party Services

The App relies on services such as Google (sign-in, Classroom, Play, AdMob), Apple, Supabase, and AI providers. Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms. Connecting Google Classroom is optional and read-only, and you can disconnect it at any time.

⚠️ Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it reliable, but we cannot promise it will always be available, error-free, or that data will never be lost. Keep your own record of important deadlines. Notifications and reminders may be delayed or blocked by your device's battery or notification settings.

⚖️ Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the developer is not liable for indirect or consequential losses from using the App, such as missed classes, missed deadlines, or lost grades. If we are found liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the App in the 12 months before the claim.

🚪 Ending Your Use

You can stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or misuse the App. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as disclaimers and liability limits) still apply after that.

🇵🇭 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Nothing in these Terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

🔄 Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above, and for major changes we will let you know in the App. Continuing to use the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
